Learn how to export your iPhone contacts to VCF format for backup, transfer, or import into ContactConverter.

Step-by-Step Instructions
Open Settings App
Locate and tap the Settings app on your iPhone home screen.
The Settings app has a gray gear icon and is usually found on the first page of your home screen.
Navigate to Contacts
Scroll down and tap on "Contacts" in the settings menu.
You may need to scroll down a bit to find the Contacts option in the Settings list.
Select Import/Export
Look for "Import/Export" or "Export vCard" option.
The exact wording may vary depending on your iOS version. Some versions show "Export vCard" directly.
Choose Export Method
Select how you want to export your contacts (Email, AirDrop, etc.).
You can email the file to yourself, use AirDrop to send to another device, or save to Files app.
Select All Contacts
Choose to export all contacts or select specific ones.
For a complete backup, select "All Contacts". You can also choose specific contact groups if needed.
Complete Export
Follow the prompts to complete the export process.
The contacts will be exported as a .vcf file that you can then import into ContactConverter.

- Make sure you have enough storage space for the export file
- Consider exporting contacts regularly as a backup
- The exported VCF file can be imported into any contact management system
- If you have many contacts, the export process may take a few minutes
Troubleshooting
Cannot find Export option
Try going to Contacts app > tap a contact > Share Contact > select multiple contacts
Export file is too large
Export contacts in smaller groups or remove photos from contacts before exporting
Email attachment fails
Use AirDrop or save to Files app instead of email for large contact files
